Currently she serves on the United Way’s executive committee and is the Vice President for the Morgantown Board of Realtors. Before joining KLM Properties, Shelly was the Marketing and Special Events Director for Triple S Harley-Davidson and will utilize her advertising background to effectively promote your property. Martin has a Fashion Merchandising degree from West Virginia University and is a life long resident of Morgantown.
We moved from Canada and were not able to see homes in person. Shelly did an outstanding job at giving us all the information we needed to make the right choice. She visited several houses in person for us, taking photos and video, and answering all of our questions. She was very committed to helping us find the house that was just right for us. She offered us helpful advice, but never imposed her own opinions, and was respectful of our needs and preferences. Shelly is very professional but also friendly and caring. She went above and beyond, putting in many hours on our behalf, and we strongly recommend her to anyone looking for a home in the Morgantown area!

The first thing that caught my attention about Shelly Martin was her incredibly “firm” handshake upon meeting her. That “firmness” is the best way to describe Shelly as our agent. We were amazed with her assertiveness and tenacity, but most importantly her honesty. She did not sugar-coat things just to make a quick buck, if she believed a choice was bad for us then she let us know. This was particularly important to my wife and I because we were moving to Morgantown essentially sight unseen. The market in Morgantown was so different from what we are accustomed to so it was really refreshing when we met Shelly and got “straight” answers to our questions. When we first met Shelly in a brief house hunting trip to Morgantown we learned more about the town in a few hours then our numerous hours of research online. Unfortunately, we did not find a place that weekend but Shelly did an excellent job of following up with us in the subsequent weeks when potential properties came on the market. If we were interested in a place then she would go by the property within 24 hours and take numerous photos and videos of the place. I think the ultimate compliment to her is that we had absolute confidence in her. After a couple of weeks working with her she knew us so well that we trusted her opinion completely—she didn’t even have to take photos (although she did anyways). We would ask her straight out: is this place good for us? Every time we got a considerate and straight answer.
We honestly cannot say enough for how much we appreciate her work. So, if you want a “firm” agent (and friend) that will promptly respond to your questions, go out of her way to help you, and give you a “straight” answer, then Shelly Martin is the person for you. We would recommend her to any person moving to or in the area, and I would be willing to place a “firm” bet that it will be a great experience.
